THE RETURN OF MRS.COYLE

Our beloved middle school assistant Principal Mrs. Coyle joins us again for another fab year at AES. After working at the American Embassy School for six years, Mrs. Coyle took a one year sabbatical to look at the exemplary middle schools in the U.S.
When the Coyles asked Dr.Hetzel for the sabbatical, their agreement was to work for the school for two more years. “I love being back at AES, and I hope I can help students have a memorable year,” said Mrs. Coyle.
When asked how AES is different to other schools she visited in the US, Mrs. Coyle remarked, ”Other schools' dress codes are stricter.”
She made sure to emphasize to me,“We (AES) are more like a private school in the US. We have a great emphasis on technology. Also, Middle School students at AES have a lot of freedom, and students have a lot of personal attention from faculty. We have a really strong academic program. “
I further asked Mrs. Coyle if she had anything to say about our Middle School dress code and how many students she has talked to about dressing appropriately for school since she has been back. Her reply was “Yes, I have talked to many students about the dress code. My SpongeBob power point at assembly marked the day I started to record violations. “
We look forward to having her back at AES as our assistant principal.
