ET SWEETNESS Click here to see great photos of this event! Each advisory had two apple pies to make. The recipe and the ingredients were given from the school. However, while making the apple pies, teachers were not able to help the students. Pie-making was planned to make the students work together and get close to each other. They needed to cooperate with the group and get the apple pies done. Julian K. felt his team worked well: "My team worked well together because lots of us had experience making pies in the past."
When students went to eat the apple pies, some were happy about how their apple pie was done, and some were disappointed. Fergus liked his: "Our pie turned out very delicious and it had a lot of flavors. You could really taste the cinnamon in it." Some advisories won prizes for their pies, including Best Dressed, Most Like Grandma's, and Most Resemblance to a Train Wreck.. All over, making the apple pie was big fun for the 8th grade students, and all of the students enjoyed making it. |
