SERVICE OR NO SERVICE? IT'S YOUR CHOICE

On 15th August Indian Independence Day, Niki Lanka and Raina Vishwanath (7th grade) decided to have a bake sale at their apartment complex.
When I asked them what encouraged them to have the bake sale, they said “There are so many places that could use some help and we heard about the floods in Leh and many kids in our neighborhood were doing something for charity, so we thought we should join in.”
So, it was always decided that the money was going to charity. There was some confusion between which charity to donate to, so Dr. Sirotin gave them a few options. Finally, they chose to donate it to Leh, since it’s a school.
They were quite busy making flyers and menus and baking before the bake sale, but otherwise they were really excited!
Amazing and glad are a few words you could use to describe how they feel right now; after raising two thousand rupees!
In conclusion, nobody asked them to have a bake sale and give the money to charity, but that’s the choice they made. It’s your choice too.
