BIG HOPES FOR NEW AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

By JuYun

Quarter One after school activities are starting in American Embassy School, making the students all excited.

In American Embassy School, there are after school activities starting from August 16th. The school has various activities like sports, games and academic help. These clubs help students in improving their skills in studies and physical education.

Mrs. Coyle from the middle school office said,  “The benefits for doing the after school activities are that students are able to meet new friends, get to know the teachers better, get academic support in various subjects. Also, you are able to learn new things in new clubs.”

She mentioned about not needing to sign up for the clubs, “I want the middle school students to feel that the after school activities are not mandatory, and that they can feel free to join up easily. The after school activities are for the students to try and find out what they like.”

Amar from the ‘Grade 6 Yearbook’ mentioned “I can make a balance in what I learn. I can learn basketball as well as the Grade 6 Yearbook making the sports and academic studies well balanced.”

Jung Woo Kim, learning volley ball after school said “I can stay fit and feel fresh after I take this lesson. Also, I will be able to improve in my volley ball playing skills.”

Mr. Casmar from the Tech Time activities said, “This class is for students who want to fill any holes in technology knowledge. It is similar to Period 9, which means it doesn’t have regular classes. Also there is a game club afterschool Monday which will be fun.”

Other than Volleyball, Grade 6 Yearbook and Tech Time, there are Swim Teams, Wrestling, Ultimate Frisbee, Games, Art Club, Street Smart Hindi, Computer Games, Young Activists, Boys Scouts, Girls Scout and Period 9 for all students attending Middle School in AES.
